Invite to a Yummy Occasion!

Good Morning & Happy Hump Day!!  I've been working on several things for the upcoming "Count Down to the Holidays Crop" starting TOMORROW at Scrap-Friendzy, that I can't show you until this weekend.  BUT, here is something I can show you that relates to a project or two for the Crop!
Every year for the past 5 years, my girlfriends, moms (mom & MIL) and other family have gotten together around Christmas for a Cookie Exchange brunch.  In keeping the spirit alive for this year, we're at it again!
I'm not sure if you've ever participated in a cookie exchange, but we all love doing this each year!  I have some wonderful cooks/bakers in my family.  My mother in law makes these awesome little pecan cup type cookies among many OTHER yummy treats!  YUMMO!!  And my mom, she always finds a super neat cookie recipe too.  I end up making about 15 dozen cookies - mostly because I can't decide on just one or two recipes!!!  I ask everyone that comes to bring 5 dozen cookies.  There are usually 10-12 of us and we all make something different.  Some ladies bring two different recipes, others just do 5 dozen of the same.  Whatever the choice is, we have at least 10 DIFFERENT cookies that we all get to go home with.  And even better yet, you don't have to make all these different cookies yourselves.
So, there's all my blah blah blah, :) and here's this year's cookie exchange invite.
I think it's my favorite Cookie Exchange Invite so far!

Materials:
Paper - Cardstock all from my stash; printed paper used for the Oven Mitt - Hobby Lobby, super cute Christmas Tree print
Cricut/Design Studio - From My Kitchen Cartridge for the Recipe Card, Rolling Pin, Oven Mitt & Recipes word; Stretch Your Imagination (I think) for the Gingerbread Man
Cuttlebug:  Swiss Dots & Distress Stripes Embossing Folders
Miscellaneous - Homemade text - Font pack from Lettering Delights; Doodling - all by hand, invite information & details - computer generated using Papyrus & LD Playful fonts; Flat backed black pearls and jeweled heart - Michaels; And of Course - Googley Eyes!
Hope you're having a great day!
Happy Craftin'!

A Little Turkey Day Invite

Every year we host our annual "After Turkey Day Dinner" for our parents, my cousins and Glen's brother.  Because we have some 'out-of-towners', we always do it the Saturday after Turkey Day when everyone can make it into town.
Even though it's only family, I always enjoy sending out invitations.  This year is no different.  It's been ages since I've done a long card and I really like how this turned out.  Simple.  I've never made bows like this either, but love the way they turned out.
Embossed Pumpkins are from a stamp set from Joann
Versamark & Orange Embossing Powder
Paper - Rust Cardstock, Little Yellow Bicycle printed paper
Ribbon - Chocolate Brown from Michaels
Invite - Computer Generated - Ld Chicken Scratch Font from Scrapnfonts.com
Thanks for stopping by today and taking a look!
Happy Craftin'!

Snowflakes Snowflakes, Here & There

Snowflakes Everywhere!
I'm not sure about you, but I love to watch it snow!
I love to watch the way it 'washes' everything clean and how still & quiet it sounds when it snows. And I LOVE how the snow sparkles & glistens when the sunlight hits it as it sits nestled in the branches of the trees.
Because we haven't had much snow (most of what we've gotten thus far melted yesterday with the 50+ degree weather). So, I thought I'd try and get into the Snowy Christmas mood by making this invitation last week.
Every year, Glen and I host Christmas Eve Dinner at Our house for our parents, Glen's Aunt, Uncle & cousins, along with our siblings. This year is no different and the menu is shaping up to be a YUMMY one. Anyway, I digress. So, I always try and send out 'invitations' to our Dinner party and this was what I came up with this year.
We absolutely LOVE the way it turned out although I'm STILL find glitter in the most interesting places.....on the cats, in the carpet, in the laundry, in the cabinets..... I've accepted the fact that I'll be wearing it regularly until I can get it all cleaned up from my studio, but I'm beginning to wonder just how much glitter my poor husband is wearing. :o)Printed Papers were Reminisce - Frosted Collection; Frosted Over & Frosted Window
White Glittery paper was Doodlebug Design
The Bling on the snowflakes were some that I had in my stash, but I think they were from either Archivers or Michaels.
Snowflake design was designed by me on Cricut Design Studio. The large snowflake in the center was cut once in the design and then by itself. Snowflake Frame and large snowflake are all on dimensionals.
So, right now, we don't have any snow, but hold on, according to the mighty weather forecaster here is our forecast for tomorrow afternoon/evening:
Tuesday night Snow showers early will become steadier snow overnight. Low 23F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Significant snow accumulation possible.
I love the "Significant snow accumulation possible" part.......
Guess we'll see if they're right tomorrow!
Happy Craftin!

Christmas in the Air

So, the Cookie Exchange invitations went in the mail this past Friday for the fourth annual Cookie Exchange.
Here is the invite for this year - I tried some digi-invites with just a little bit of traditional scraping. It's a two part invitation - this is just the PDF file that I printed off. The actual invite had the JOY popped up on dots for dimension. Sorry they're so hard to read.....I just thought the design and colors were kind of neat.

And, the Homemade Christmas Card production began on Sunday. Homemade Christmas Cards, that's what we're sending out this year! In the past, we've always done a family 'newsletter', but this year, we decided to change it up a bit. So, Sunday afternoon, I ran to Michaels to pick up stacks of red, white and green papers & opalescent ribbon. The envies have been ordered and the papers are being cut. I hope to have one compeltely assembled that I can show you tomorrow. I think they'll be super cute!
So, do you make your own Holiday Cards?
Happy Holiday Craftin'!

I Pity The Fool....and so does Mr. T

Who doesn't take a look at these super cute invitations!
I can't get over how well they turned out. (I still have about 1/2 of them left to finish assembling, but I'm just about there!!). So, I thought I'd show you one of the finished invites.
The photos are a little rough - bad light today.....
Here's the Front...
Here's the front, partially open... Here's the inside & the inside so you can see Mr. T better. The concept was supposed to be the back of the A-Team van. What do you think?
Mission Accomplished?
Wishing you a day filled with sunshine & creativity!

Mr. T Has LEFT the Building

And he's completely clothed, Bling included. So this is what I've been working on all week! This is my Mr. T Army! My nephew is having his first birthday the end of October and my sister chose the party theme of the 80's (as in the era in time when Parachute Pants, Super Tall Bangs, Madonna & AC/DC- were in their prime - yep, those 80's).
And because Tommy will be dressed up as Mr. T for his first birthday party, it was decided that an A-Team themed invitation was in my future.....
There's a lot more that goes with the Mr. T invitations, I just haven't finished that part up yet....but I just thought I'd show ya what I've been working on.
Well, I'll leave you with those googley eyed little Mr. T's to chuckle at today (By the way, they're all 3.5" tall, Bling included. :o) Here he is up close - (sorry for the blurry photo)
Glen and I are off to take on Tiger Woods again tonight. He MUST be BEATEN!!
Wishing you Sunshine & Creativity this weekend!
