Oldie But Goodie @ The Bug!

It's an Oldie But Goodie Thursday over at The Bug Blog!

Today I thought I'd share one of my favorite oldies that I always go to when I need a sympathy or thinking of you card.

A family friend of ours lost her dad not too long ago - he lived a good long life of 90+ years, however, it's never easy to lose someone.

Oldie But Goodie Thursday @ Bugaboo

Do you like Oldies?
When I think of Oldies, I think of music - the "Oldies" that my dad listened too when I was a kid.  The same Oldies that I now listen too and likely the same Oldies that our daughter will listen to (or at least while she's growing up and I have control of the radio).  :)

Today, we have a different kind of Oldie - A Bugaboo Stamps Oldie But Goodie.

I just LOVE this Bugaboo Stamps Flower Vases.  This Daisy vase is one of my favorites.  It's cute for birthday, but also works wonderfully for a thinking of you and even sympathy cards.

The Sympathy version is what I whipped up for today -

More than my Fair Share...

Gosh it seems like lately I've been making more than my fair-share of Sympathy cards.
I always find making these cards tough - I'm not sure if it's because my creativity turns itself off because it KNOWS WHY we're making the card (great how I talk about US, huh?), or if it's just because I don't know the 'RIGHT' elements for a sympathy card.......
In anycase, I'm very pleased with how this turned out.
For some reason I really love the look of the dry embossing for these types of cards.
Image - Studio G Butterfly; Miscellaneous Thinking of You stamp

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Happy Monday!  Today was the kind of Monday I like - one that I got to spend at home, enjoying the day.  I've got a list of felted slippers that need making for Christmas, so I was able to work on a pair while I enjoyed the time on the deck.  I've knitted 2 pair in the last 2 weeks.  It's never too early to start on Christmas projects! :o)  I've been working on several paper projects also - a chipboard album for a class at Live Laugh Love Scrap in October, Cards and some Design Team projects.  Right now I'm listening to it rain and contemplating an early night (nothing better than falling asleep to the rain!)
In any case, two of the cards I did today were Sympathy cards for a family who lost their mother/grandmother.  A wonderfully special lady who lived 101 years and would have celebrated 102 in November.  She was a woman I never met, but she was kind enough a few years ago after my mother in law asked me to knit her a foo-fa-la scarf.  In return she knitted Glen and I the most beautiful yellow blanket.  Certainly a woman who touched many lives in her time here.
These two cards are for her son with whom she lived and her granddaughter who is a family friend.  Simple but heartfelt.
Cuttlebug - Friends Forever Combo Embossing/Die
Paper - Purple, Navy and White Cardstock
Sentiment - computer generated
Miscellaneous - Diamond Stickles
