Is it SPRING yet?!

So for the past few weeks in Michigan, we've been 'enjoying' the wintery stuff - 1/2 inch of ice on everything that could be covered.  Covered with snow.  Then we got the FREAKIN' Cold weather - temps below 0 and wind chills times 2 below zero.

Well, this morning, we woke up to this.....

That's a new fresh coat of 4 inches of snow with another 5-7 that will begin arriving around 2 pm.  That's on top of the 6" of snow we got last week.  When all is said and done tonight, we'll have 10-12 inches of new snow on the ground.......I can hardly wait to try & drive into work tomorrow morning......UGH!

The bummer part?  Other than having to drive in rush hour traffic with this menacing white stuff.....along with all this snow the BEYOND FREAKIN' COLD temps will be arriving tonight with our high temperature tomorrow of a whoppin' 2 degrees F, if it even gets above 0 degrees F.  The low tomorrow night, -9 degrees F and that doesn't include any wind chill.  Add that in and they said it could feel like 40 below 0.  Yep, just a little too cold to go outside and make a snowman in the back yard.......

How long before SPRING arrives?!
Hugs & hoping for Snow Free Days......

Some Days......

Wow, can you believe we've made it to Thursday already?!  I'm so looking forward to a long weekend.  Truth be told, ALL of our Christmas decorations are still up - tree, lights, village, wreaths, EVERYTHING.  So, this weekend, since we're supposed to see 40* and a little sunshine, we're going to try and get the outside lights taken down during the day and then move inside and 'De-Christmas' the house (that's a word in the K-ski house).  In the meantime, over the last week or so, we've accumulated about 8" of snow, and when I was going through some shared stamped images, I came across this one - way too funny in my mind and thought I'd whip up a little Hang in There card.
I used a Pagemaps sketch that Cheryl posted as part of  January's Sketch-A-Thon at Scrap-Friendzy.
The sentiment inside reads - "Some Days You Just Can't DUCK Quick Enough!  Hang In There"
Image - Not sure where it originated from, but LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
Technique - Magic Colored Pencil Technique
Papers:  Coredinations lime green, white & navy cardstock and printed paper from another old Christmas stack
Miscellaneous - Prima BLING snowballs, sheer ribbon, computer generated sentiment (LD Artsy - picked up from Scrapnfonts)
Thanks so much for stopping by and spending a little time here with me today.  This weekend we're switching to Valentines Day projects - I have the honor of helping with a few of Colin's Valentines Days cards this year because he's getting a new baby sister right around Valentines Day.  I'm also working on a 10 Things I Love About You album that I'll be teaching a class for the beginning of Febuary at Live Laugh Love Scrap in Oxford.  I hope to have some photos of that little baby this weekend!
Have a great day - keep warm and Happy Craftin'!

Hoppy Easter

So first I had to share what we woke up to this morning - 6" of the wet white stuff (and a tranformer around the corner blowing up at 4:05 this morning). Oh Joy! And here I thought spring was right around the corner! Don't get me wrong, I love the snow (IN DECEMBER), but after 5+ months of cold & snow, I'm perfectly fine with it going away any day (and I'm sure my flowers that were peaking through would be happy if it went away too!).
Okay, moving past the unsightly, pleasureless (is that a word?) bad mother nature joke and to the crafty stuff. I've been working to finish a family album for a client, but had to take a little time out to put together a few Easter cards for the kids. Hoppy Easter, a few days early! I made 10 total. The sketch was from the Sketch & Stash Challenge Blog, Challenge #7.

The House Mouse stamp is my new item (Don't Crack Under...(April '09), the papers are from my stash (can't remember who makes the fun zig zag paper), 'Hoppy Easter' is computer generated in the Curlz font. The inside reads "Hope you have an Egg-cellent Easter". Green for the boys, Pink for the girls and a cute little house mouse on all of them (I really need to find some new stamps to obsess over.....but these are just too darn cute!). Thanks for looking - hoping you're having a Snow-Free 'Egg-cellent Day'.
Happy Craftin'

How about those Spartans?

And even though we've got Maize & Blue in our blood here at the Kantina, we're more than happy to root for MSU when they're not taking on the Maize & Blue. And wow, what a game last night!
We're looking forward to watching them take on UNC tomorrow night for the National Championship!
Go Green! Go White!
Happy Weekend - here's hoping we don't get the 6-9" of snow like they're talking tonight!

How lucky am I....?

To have a 20 pound furball as my own personal crafting assistant?
His fee?
A sip of Mt. Dew from my blue glass (yes, he for some reason Gizmo likes Mt. Dew, but only from the blue glass when it's on my table) and some ribbon that I just happen to be using to chew on.
Maybe this is why I have such a tough time getting projects finished?!
What do ya think? He does take up a 'little' space!
This weekend wasn't too creatively productive - do you ever start one of those layouts that for some reason just takes you an infinite time to finish?! Well, that's what I started last week and it's still in need of some assistance. Though it wasn't creatively productive, we were productive in other areas. Laundry was nearly finished, I finished a blanket I was knitting AND Glen and I were able to do a little Tiger Woods golfing. And on top of that, I got to meet my girlfriends Amy & Sue and God Son Colin for lunch on Saturday to celebrate our Christmas.
It was a wonderful day, even with all the snow.
This week will be a productive week! Productive and indoor since its supposed to get downright cold - I half saw something on the news this morning while I was still sleepwalking about, a temperature being minus 5 (as in 5 degrees below zero, as in HOLY BRRRRRRRR). This temperature isn't including the wind chill either.
Sounds like a good week to get some scrappin' done, doesn't it?
Happy Craftin!

Can you say SNOW?!

This was taken at 9:26 this morning - we were 'blessed' with our first big snow storm of the season (and it's not even winter yet!) It's 7 pm and we've got about 12 inches on the ground now. AND more coming tomorrow night, another 2-4 inches.
The snow is absolutely beautiful! I'll post another photo tomorrow of the final product on the deck.
Needless to say, between doing some shoveling to get our cars in and out of the driveway and cleaning off the walk ways, I was able to do a bit of crafting today. Of course, much of the crafting is Christmas projects I'm working on and can't quite post yet.
Happy Craftin' & if you're enjoyin' the snow with us, bundle up and stay warm tonight!
