Crazy Shopping Challenge

Did you all have a good time with your Black Friday shopping??  We tried to stay away from any and all stores yesterday, and only happened to visit one, that was Tractor Supply to get Horse feed and it still took us 20 minutes to get out of the line.  UGH!

Well, today's Catch The Bug Challenge is a Black Friday/Shopping type of Challenge.  What kind of challenge do we mean?  No, not a challenge to see how much shopping you can do - but rather what kind of crafty kind of thing you can create with the Black Friday (using the color black)/and Shopping kind of theme in your project.

Of course, at this time of year, Stella is perfect - in the past while shopping early early in the morning on Black Friday, I've seen SEVERAL ladies that remind me of Stella.
Image - Bugaboo Stamps "Stella"
Paper - Miscellaneous papers from my stash
Coloring - Copics
Punch - EK Success

Be sure to visit The Bug Blog and see the amazing creations everyone else made and then pop over to The Bugaboo Store and pick up a new image or two to enter into this challenge - with the November 50% off sale, you can't go wrong with a few new images!  :)

Happy Black Friday!

I don't know about you all, but I try to avoid the stores like the plague today . . . .
Today we'll spend the day getting ready for our Turkey Day dinner that we host tomorrow.
The wine is chilled which is a PERFECT start.  The camera battery is charged and ready to capture special memories.  All we have to do is make a stop at the grocery store for the last minute side items.
Glen has been searching Beef Tenderloin recipes for weeks now and I think we've just about narrowed it down.  Now if only it would warm up enough for he and his bro to deep fry the turkey & tenderloin outside.  BRRRRR!
Speaking of cold weather, winter, snow and BRRRRRR - Jodie's got super cute Snowmam set on her mind today - woudln't you agree??
If you think this fella is cute - you MUST check out the rest of the set!!
Can I tell you - I think this is the first time EVER I've taken a photo that you could actually see the bling glistening......MUST remember that setting!! :D

Get those Oldies out!

Happy Turkey Day to you all!
I hope you're enjoying your family and friends (and a really yummy Turkey Dinner today).
Today is our Low Key Thanksgiving - our BIG Thanksgiving with all our family is on Saturday - my hubby and brother in law are both already STOKED about the deep-fried Turkey, deep-fried Beef Tenderloin and whatever else may end up in the deep-fryer (pierogi, potatoes, you name it......).
We have so much to be Thankful this year - even though times are tough and my dad has been ill, we are so thankful and blessed this year that we have each other and the memories no matter big or small that we've  been able to share together!  We are thankful for our family and friends - and the support they have shared with us this past year when we really needed their support.
I won't get all mushy - but be sure you remember to tell those in your life how thankful you are to have them.  They'll never get sick of hearin' it!

Okay - so, the oldies I'm talkin' about aren't your old turkeys or leftovers that have been in the back of your fridge till you can't tell what they are - every wonder why they only sell fresh "YOUNG" turkeys??
As usual, my A.D.D. has kicked in and I digress - I'm just so excited about the Food Coma I'll be in this afternoon!!
The Oldies I'm talking about today - those Bugaboo Oldies but Goodies we all love of course!!
I just love these cute Garden Cats that Jodie created - they all too well remind us of our two furbabies and even the rescue furbaby my mom and dad have.
And to go with the super cute furbabies is the aqua and red color scheme that I just ADORE (along with that bit fat black & white bow!)
Paper - Miscellaneous Cardstocks and Doodlebug Design Stripes
Coloring - Copics
Punch - EK Success
Extra STUFF - Gingham Ribbon from Michaels (LOVE THIS), Studio G Sentiment, Faux Hand Stitching, Dimensionals and Flat Backed Bling

My mom always recalls how I used to practice while she was cooking dinner - never had to ask me to practice because I enjoyed it so much.

A little Grin

While I don't have anything crafty for you today, I thought I'd share with you something that gave us all a grin the other day.
With everything that's been going on with my dad and now the newest finding and not knowing our next steps or plan of action quite yet, we continue to try & keep things in our family light with all the heavy we're dealing with.

There's a store near my mom and dad's place called Tractor Supply (some of you KNOW what I'm talkin' about) that has EVERYTHING you could possibly need for the farm - even if you're not a farm person, YOU would have fun wandering thru this store!

LIP JUNK is something we don't skimp on either on the farm.
My mom found this last week and we're STILL laughing about it.
Insert EWWWWWW here, but it's pretty freakin' funny, don't you think??
The lip balm is pretty good stuff too!
Yep, insert big EWWWWWWWW here.   :D
Hope you enjoyed today's grin.
If you're lookin' for a little tutorial today, stop over to Paul's blog today and see what kind of neat-o stuff he's gonna be teachin' you to do today!

Anything But a Card @ Bugaboo

Happy Monday All - today is another great Antyhign But a Card day at The Bug Challenge Blog today.
Every year around the holidays, our family makes homemade chocolates.  When I was growing up, my mom and a family friend and four kids (including me) made homemade chocolates every year for the holidays.  Of course, as we all grow older, we get away from some traditions.
Last year, to carry on traditions my parents created with us, I started making holiday homemade chocolates.  So far this season I've made one batch of "mint chocolate covered pretzels".  Quality Control Tasted and Approved.  :)  Of course, this is just the tip of the traditional homemade chocolate making - more pretzels and chocolate covered cherries are in my future.
So, today I thought I'd share the first batch of pretzels with you, all packaged and ready to share.
Pretty cute, huh?
And here's a super cute little tag I created with another wonderful Christmas digi from Bugaboo's November Digi Club Kit.

Oldie But Goodie - in More ways than 1

First of all - Happy Veterans Day to all our Vetrans.  How blessed we are to have the best veterans in the world.  The sacrifices they've made to keep our rights and freedoms intact.
I am reminded of these Veterans every time I see of talk to my dad or father in law.  Every time I sit with my dad at the Vetrans hospital for his appointments.
These men and women (Veterans and active duty soldiers) belong to a VERY SPECIAL group -
How willing would you be to give up all the comforts we're so used to and go to the middle east to stand up for what you believe in?
So, today espeically - say thank you to a veteran - or give one a hug if you're so inclined. : )
Okay, climbing down from my soap box now because I don't discuss politics (that just gets everyone disagreein' and we don't need none of that round here!).  ; )

So today's Thursday - Oldie but Goodie Day at Catch The Bug.
The Invites are in the mail and WATCH OUT those who may be receiving one -
Our FAVORITE Bugaboo Broad is talkin' Turkey!
Because we have family that comes in from out of town, we always celebrate our big family 'After Turkey Day Dinner' the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  It's the best - my hubby and his bro deep fry the turkey and anything else they can get their hands on.  Because we're Polish there is always 'basa and kraut & pierogi.  And of course, the standard Turkey Day Fare.
Image - Bugaboo "Stella Calendar" set
Paper - All from my stash - Kraft, Metallic Yellow, Brown & Orange
Coloring - Copics
Cuttlebug - Embossing - D'vine Swirl, Textile & Swiss Dots
Extra STUFF - Computer generated invitation, Doodling, A little bling & Ribbon/Bow
So, all that's left is to make sure the wine is stocked and the food is hot - oh wait, I think I have to do the grocery shopping too!
Stella will be joining the following challenges today -

Thanks so much for stoppin' by today!
If you're lookin' for a bit more inspiration - head over to the Catch The Bug Challenge blog, check out the design team creations and if you haven't joined us for this week's Challenge, we've got an ANYTHING GOES!
