Are you READY for some FOOTBALL?

Yep, this weekend is the Michigan vs. Michigan State College Football game. So, in honor of that, I thought I'd post a layout I designed for the Live Laugh Love & Scrap store in Oxford.

Materials Used - World Win Card Stock in Yellow, Blue & Green (can't remember specific names)
Pigskin textured paper for footballs & text & of course, I can't remember where the printed paper came from.....DOH!
Prisma pencils for the yard lines on the green 'football' field
Cricut - Walk in My Garden (leaf) to make footballs, Base Camp for title & Accent Essentials for the squiggly arrows.
DMC Floss in Cream for Football laces
Quote I found online, computer generated: It reads "The Smell of Pigskin. The Diehard Fans. The Lavish Tailgating. But most importantly, The Need to Tackle Someone! IT MUST BE FOOTBALL SEASON!"
LET'S GO BLUE!!!
Happy Craftin' & Football Rootin!

Busy Week Here. . . How about You?

We've had a busy week around our house - we have 2 children's Halloween birthday parties this weekend and next weekend, both of which request the attendees to dress up. And of course, this year, neither party or costume has the same theme or one that can be adapted....hence, a total of 4 costumes for Glen and I.....
So, that's what we worked on this weekend. I'll be sure to post photos from each party.
Glen is going for the trifecta win this year at Colin's party - he's been challenged by Meemaw (Colin's Grandma Kay) and her husband Brian.
I did manage to get a few projects completed this past week, just didn't get a chance to upload them here.
This is the THINK PINK challenge from scrap-friendzy. I've never been much a fan of shoes (just ask my mom). Still even as an adult, I'd rather run around barefoot than have shoes on, NO MATTER NOW CUTE the shoes are. So, I thought this LO was fitting! :o)
These are some Aruban Happy Feet!
It says "Sometimes Shoes, No Matter How Cute Are OVERRATED!"
Supplies used: Cricut DS to do text
Cricut - StoryBook Font, George & Tear Drop
Fiskars Threading Water Punch
Shoe Ribbon - JoAnn
Paper - We R Memory Keepers - White Out Hoopla Line
The second project I worked on is a Halloween page, but I still need to print the photo.
Maybe I can get that done this week. I'll post once the photo is printed.
And last, but not least, now that this has been shipped to its new owner, this is a baby blanket I just finished. I think after Christmas I'm going to knit a sweater out of this yarn.

Soft and cuddly!!
Sure could have used something soft and cuddly on the drive this morning - 42 degrees was the temperature at O-Dark Thirty when I got in the car to go to work.
You know it's getting cold when ANY kind of socks and close toed shoes come out in our house!Happy crafting! Min

What was I THINKING?!

So, the Cricut Design Studio has been on the market for how long? I've been putting it off because I figured I didn't need anymore crafty stuff. Well, I finally broke down and downloaded the free trial....I'm HOOKED!!!
I've been tinkering with it all weekend!
Let the creativity EXPLODE!

I've Been Pinked....

by my Friend Sherry!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Hello, Pretty Lady!

You have been hit.
You have been considered one of the 10 prettiest ladies with a kind, warm and loving heart. Once you have been hit, you have to hit 10 pretty ladies with kind, warm and loving hearts. If you get hit again you know you're really pretty and kind. If you fail to forward this, you'll have ugliness for 10 years. So hit 10 pretty ladies to let them know they are pretty -- both on the
inside and the outside - and that they are loved and cared for.

SEND THIS TO PRETTY LADIES, TO BRIGHTEN THEIR DAY, INCLUDING THE ONE WHO SENT IT TO YOU! REMIND LADIES TO BE INFORMED, AWARE AND BE CHECKED FOR THEIR HEALTH'S SAKE. TELL THEM THAT NO ONE WANTS TO LOSE THEM - AFTER ALL, THEY ARE PRETTY LADIES WITH KIND, WARM LOVING HEARTS.

All you are asked to do is keep this circulating (even if to one person).

Don't forget to get 'em checked!!

In memory of anyone you know that has been struck by cancer.

Card Maker of sorts....????

So, I'm not much of a card maker - the 'canvas' seems to be too small for the HUGE ideas, and there's never enough room for all the pictures I take, but this was a card I made for the Monday Motivation Black & White with a pop of color Friend Card challenge over at Scrap Friendzy.
And speaking of cards, come celebrate World Card Making Day with us October 3-5 at http://www.scrap-friendzy.com/. Click on the link or the blinkie to the right. You'll find a TON of inspiration, great ladies, and heck, maybe you'll even get some cards made!!
Happy Card Making!

A Challenge and Some Inspiration!

So I came across this awesome site, Scrap Friendzy about a month ago and joined (it's free, fun, motivational & inspirational!) The ladies on the site are wonderful sweet & creatively supportive. Each day, they post a crafty challenge - One day it may be Using a specified sketch to create a layout, Using a quote, using a certain technique for a card, etc. The fun part is that you get to see everyone elses creations using the same 'challenge'.
So, one of the challenges was one that Ronda chose - it was to use a sketch to create a LO. Now, I'm not normally one to use other's sketches. I usually sketch a LO with my ideas and chicken scratch before I start cutting. But, I have to tell you, I REALLY enjoyed this challenge. And on top of that I LOVE the way it turned out!!!
This is Glen and I celebrating our 5th Anniversary in Aruba this past August.

Can you see why I love the way it turned out?? :o)
The quote says, "Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away".
So, if you need of some creative inspiration or a challenge, stop by and visit.
Happy Creating!!
