Lovin' Those Oldies!

I've finally realized that I've taken after my dad when it comes to a lot of things.  Two of those things are story telling (he's still the ULTIMATE story teller - I LAUGH just thinking about the stories he used to tell!)  The second - OLDIES, you know, those catchy songs from the 50's, 60's and early 70's.  I love getting in the car and tuning out to those Elvis, The Righteous Brothers, The Beach Boys, The Stones and all those songs.
I remember traveling with my dad and singing those tunes - My dad was a great singer.
Funny how thoughts like that can trigger so many happy memories!  =)
Of course, as usual I digress - so what do stories and OLDIES have to do with today's post?
It's an OLDIE BUT GOODIE Thursday at Bugaboo of course - see you KNEW I'd get there at some point!
Because I'm trying to get all my Easter and Spring cards together, I picked this Super Cute Spring Chick image.
Image - Bugaboo Stamps "Easter Chicks" Eggs
Papers - Bazzill & Basic Grey "Lemonade" & Kraft
Coloring - Copics
Tools - EK Success Punch
Extra STUFF - Dimensionals, Bling, Studio G Sentiment Stamp, Colorbox Magenta Ink & Ribbon from my stash

Be sure to pop over to The Bug Blog and see all the wonderful Oldies the team has used today to created.  I always find a few new ones I want to add to my collection on Thursdays!  =)
You've still got time to join us for this week's Spring Layers challenge too.  Play for your chance to win!

A Combo Challenge

Whew, another busy week! I had a Design Studio class Tuesday night at Live Laugh Love Scrap in Oxford and have been plugging away on an album for a client, but thought I'd put together a quick little card. I'm not sure how your creative process works, but sometimes actually FINISHING something when I have all these other projects that take a lot of time to finish is exhilarating.
This Gruffies image is from Aprile on the Cricut MB for the May MCPT Challenge. I love the lilacs on this image - they're now blooming our area. I'm hoping to find a lilac bush somewhere that I can pull over and cut a few lilacs off and enjoy at home. My oh my, I'd love a lilac bush in our yard. I digress - The Sketch is based on this weeks Challenge #38 from the House Mouse Monday Challenge. The inside says Sending you a Bouquet of Love, Happy Mothers' Day.
Just a little 2 birds, one stone kind of project. :)

Materials:
Gruffies Lavender Bouquet Stamp
Basic Grey LilyKate Collection
Ribbon from my stash
Silver Brads, Making Memories
Flowers: Primas and miscellaneous from my stash
Hope you're creativity is running wild and you're off to have a lovely Memorial Weekend!
Happy Craftin'!

HAPPY SPRING!

Now if only Mother Nature would hurry up and bring on the spring weather!!
In honor of today being the first day of spring, here's a quick photo of the cover of the Flower Chipboard album I've been working on. Not the greatest photo, it's much brighter and fun in person (I'll try to photograph with a white background when I take pics later), but you get the idea. Hopefully tomorrow between NCAA tourney games & cleaning/laundry I can get a few good photos of the entire album.

Paper is We R Memory Keepers, Nonsense collection, flower pot is Cricut WIMG, Circle is George, embossed with D'Vine Swirl Cuttlebug folder. Bloom Where U R Planted was computer generated, colored with Prisms & MCPT. Album has a total of 12 pages including front and back cover. Happy Spring - hope to have more photos tomorrow!
Happy Craftin! Min

Creative Chaos

Howdy All - I've been so bad blogging the last few days. Unfortunately, I don't have anything crafty to share today either - I've been working on a few jobs lately (Baby announcements for my 'cuz Teri who is having their first baby girl next week - YEAH! and several chipboard albums for hire and a class in April.)
Add to that, the SPRING CLEANING BUG that bit me last weekend (yep, I spent just about the entire weekend CLEANING!!!) and if I haven't told you about our new vacuum, you would understand WHY we have the Spring Cleaning Bug. We ended up getting a Riccar canister vacuum a few weekends ago and like Glen says, "It sure sucks". I say it'll suck the white off rice! Funny how this new vacuum is like having a new gaget or gizmo in your studio. Never thought I'd get this excited about a Vacuum.......In anycase, that pretty much sums up what's going on at The Kaymin Kantina!

However, I will share a photo from last summer - because we don't have kids, our cats are our kids. This was Tucker at 3 am the day Glen and I were leaving for Aruba. She'd attached herself to my carry-on (Yah, I know, hard to tell where the cat stops and the bags starts....).
I do hope to have something to show you in a few days. I'm also getting ready for my Entertaining at Home Party next weekend, so I have a few projects to get wrapped up for that as well. Looking to getting the girls together and welcoming SPRING!!
I hope everyone had a nice & safe St. Patty's Day yesterday and are finding creativity and happiness in the warmer weather as the flowers begin to bloom and the grass starts to get green again. Spring, here we come!
Happy Craftin'
