Granny Panties....

We've all seen those before, right? Granny Panties that is...
Well, in my stop at Archivers this past Monday when I was headed to Holly's for her Entertaining At Home party, I came across this stamp set and it made its way into my basket (much like a few other fun goodies......it's been awhile since I've been to Archivers).
Anyway, I wasn't sure what I'd do with it, but I put together a quick card for a friend of mine yesterday and thought I'd share.
Of course, I wasn't paying any attention to who the stamp set is by, or what collection of Basic Grey paper it was that I used, but once I have a chance to haul myself down to my studio, I'll get the details.
Stamp Set: Our Craft Lounge's Granny's Support Team
Basic Grey LilyKate Collection
Velvet scalloped Ribbon - M's

Don't you just love the little panties on the inside?
I'm going to get this published quick before the power starts flickering again, already had to run up 2 flights of stairs to close windows because it was storming so hard. Gizmo has already taken cover, a good 20 minutes before the storm got here. So much for a weekend of sunshine....
(It's great to have our own little weather man - and he's right about 99.9% of the time!)
Hoping you had a fabulous weekend!

Pop dots for added dimension

Little Ladybug

We've been crazy busy this week - of course working on projects that take more than a day to finish, BUT, I wanted to share one of the projects I just finished with you. My cousin Teri and her hubby Tom added a new baby to their home the end of March. And here are the baby announcements.
Didn't they turn out cute? I love the way the wings move to show the baby photo underneath. The baby details are on a pull out tab underneath the photo underneath the movable wings.
Papers: Red, White, Pink & Black Cardstock
Cricut: Doodlecharm Lady Bug cut @ 5" to fit in 5.5 square envie
Used DS to design her head, cut wings in half after all cuts were made
Primas: Got Flowers
Heart Shaped Brads: Making Memories (were in red, white, pink, purple & silver)
Baby: Studio G Stamp
DMC floss & Pink Sheer Ribbon & googley Eyes
Photo and baby info pull out computer generated
Off to finish Dinner - It's Taco Night!

Just Chicken In

Just thought I'd share this card with you - of course the "Just Chicken In" is a bit cheezy, but fit perfectly with these three cluckers. I made it for a friend of mine. The image is a Penny Black Stamp. Papers are from my stash. Ribbon was from Michaels a few years ago and the black brads were Making Memories. Colored the image using MCPT. Added bling to the center of the flowers and of course to compelte the card, I had to add some doodling & stickles (stickles look a bit funky in the photo, but they look okay in real life. :)
Thanks for looking! Hope you have a great Easter Weekend.
Happy Craftin' and enjoy the time with you families.

Sun, Sand & Surf

This is the Day 40 - Spring Break Challenge from 365 Cards. Check them out - its a fabulous place for some inspiration! I've been super busy with albums for clients and class projects(WHEW), but needed a little time out and couldn't help but jump on this challenge. I'm a sucker for the Beach, Ocean, Sun, Sand & Surf.
So, the challenge was to use the Sun, Sand & Surf to inspire you. And after all this cold, snowy Michigan weather, one can only imagine how inspiring the thought of Sun, Sand and Surf can be. So, here's my card - nothing like the little fat cat in the hammock (This looks like our Jaba da Cat, minus the fruity beverage ; )!
Stamp: Penny Black
Technique: MCPT w/Prism Penciles & Gamsol
Paper: Stamped on White Cardstock
Did a bit of inking to extend the water & sand across the card. Inked clouds in blue sky.
Added stickles to the water, tropical beverage and shells.
The palm tree tops and the crab at the bottom are popped up on dots & layered for dimension. I really enjoyed making this card!
I hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy the Easter holiday for those of you that will be celebrating. I'll be in my studio for the next few days working on client projects, but I hope to have a chance to share a few of them with you very soon!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Wedding Shower Family Album

So, here's the most recent Chipboard album I did for a client. It's for a couple that is getting married this spring. Printed Papers: Heidi Grace Designs - Forever Love Collection(new line Michaels is carrying)
Pink Cardstock
Cricut: Calligraphy, Christmas Cheer, Jasmine, Storybook, Wedding Solutions, Design Studio,
Primas, Pearl embellies, brads from stash, Color Box Chestnut Roan ink, Pop Dots for dimension, Stickles
I love the way this turned out, hopefully the bride & groom will too.
Hope you're busy craftin - I know I am since we've got another 8" of snow we're dealing with.
Mother Nature must have been confused when MSU said they were going to have a white-out for tonight's National Championship Game, and she decided to send us snow......hopefully Spring will arrive before July!

Hoppy Easter

So first I had to share what we woke up to this morning - 6" of the wet white stuff (and a tranformer around the corner blowing up at 4:05 this morning). Oh Joy! And here I thought spring was right around the corner! Don't get me wrong, I love the snow (IN DECEMBER), but after 5+ months of cold & snow, I'm perfectly fine with it going away any day (and I'm sure my flowers that were peaking through would be happy if it went away too!).
Okay, moving past the unsightly, pleasureless (is that a word?) bad mother nature joke and to the crafty stuff. I've been working to finish a family album for a client, but had to take a little time out to put together a few Easter cards for the kids. Hoppy Easter, a few days early! I made 10 total. The sketch was from the Sketch & Stash Challenge Blog, Challenge #7.

The House Mouse stamp is my new item (Don't Crack Under...(April '09), the papers are from my stash (can't remember who makes the fun zig zag paper), 'Hoppy Easter' is computer generated in the Curlz font. The inside reads "Hope you have an Egg-cellent Easter". Green for the boys, Pink for the girls and a cute little house mouse on all of them (I really need to find some new stamps to obsess over.....but these are just too darn cute!). Thanks for looking - hoping you're having a Snow-Free 'Egg-cellent Day'.

How about those Spartans?

And even though we've got Maize & Blue in our blood here at the Kantina, we're more than happy to root for MSU when they're not taking on the Maize & Blue. And wow, what a game last night!
We're looking forward to watching them take on UNC tomorrow night for the National Championship!
Go Green! Go White!
Happy Weekend - here's hoping we don't get the 6-9" of snow like they're talking tonight!

365 Cards Challenge - Day 33 - White Space

If you haven't checked out 365 Cards, check them out - they have a daily challenge, which is a fabulous place for some inspiration. This challenged involved only using the the top or bottom 1/3 of the card, leaving the other 2/3's blank.
So, here we are -

Materials - Pre-packaged white card, Cuttlebug embossing folder for embossed flowers @ bottom. Yellow & Pink polka dotted ribbon & Prima Got Flowers with yellow brad from my stash.
Inside the card I used one of the G-stamps that says Thinking of You.
Okay, back to it. I've been working on one of my albums all weekend and hope to finish it up today as well as a few Easter cards. I'll probably make a run to the store too. They're saying we're in for 6-9+ inches of snow tonight into tomorrow. I can hardly wait for the commute to work tomorrow -UGH. Hopefully they're wrong and we don't get anything but rain. But either way, I'm sure I'll have photos.

Hope you're having a terrific weekend - Happy Craftin'!
