New Release - Three Snomies

So, I'm slowly getting back into my studio.

Long story short - I had a huge cabinet of 'stuff' on the wall, which decided to fall OFF the wall.

Wish I would have taken a picture of the MESS that I've been cleaning up!  Needless to say, trying to clean up & reorganize between working and a very helpful 3 year old has been a challenge.

Even more challenging, getting ANY crafting done in this 'studio' if you can call it that right now.

Ah, maybe between Christmas and New Years I can get myself reorganized!

In the meantime, today Bugaboo has this super cute little Three Snowmen release, complete with cute hats, ear warmers and scarves!  Yup, cold weather is here in the med-west.

Papers - Cosmo Cricket print, Kraft & core'dination cardstock
Extra STUFF - Dimensionals

Here's to a great day!

Winter Wonderlandin' at The Bug!

Well, we're back with another Bugaboo Challenge.
Today, our challenge is a THEME challenge.

The Theme:  Winter Wonderland
I have a newly cleaned and PURGED studio (My Christmas present to myself), so the creatin' has been good!!
Amazing how sometimes a little organizing can lure that mojo right back where it belongs! :o)
Might have had something to do with the fact that we had a Christmas VACATION from work and got lots of our 'around the house' projects wrapped up too! :)

Of course, I digress (good to see that wasn't a New Years resolution I made :)
So, I just love the new Snowman Trio that Jodie has in the store!!  Today was the PERFECT time to get these three cuties out!  Cold chill & all!
Papers - MME - Colorful Christmas (discontinued and being hoarded!!!)
Coloring - Copics
Tools - EK Success Border Punch
Extra STUFF - Stickles, Dimensionals, BLING

Is it SPRING yet?!

So for the past few weeks in Michigan, we've been 'enjoying' the wintery stuff - 1/2 inch of ice on everything that could be covered.  Covered with snow.  Then we got the FREAKIN' Cold weather - temps below 0 and wind chills times 2 below zero.

Well, this morning, we woke up to this.....

That's a new fresh coat of 4 inches of snow with another 5-7 that will begin arriving around 2 pm.  That's on top of the 6" of snow we got last week.  When all is said and done tonight, we'll have 10-12 inches of new snow on the ground.......I can hardly wait to try & drive into work tomorrow morning......UGH!

The bummer part?  Other than having to drive in rush hour traffic with this menacing white stuff.....along with all this snow the BEYOND FREAKIN' COLD temps will be arriving tonight with our high temperature tomorrow of a whoppin' 2 degrees F, if it even gets above 0 degrees F.  The low tomorrow night, -9 degrees F and that doesn't include any wind chill.  Add that in and they said it could feel like 40 below 0.  Yep, just a little too cold to go outside and make a snowman in the back yard.......

How long before SPRING arrives?!
Hugs & hoping for Snow Free Days......

Winter has ARRIVED!

With just a few days before Christmas, it's Murphy's Law that we get SOME sort of nasty weather.
This year and the 2013 Murphy's Law has proven that.

This is what we woke up to this morning - everything covered in thick blankets of ice....including the power lines.....

And this is just the back yard!
Luckily - we still have power (knock on wood) though it's been on and off all night.
It's supposed to be up around 37* today (yah, I know, heat wave, right).  So, HOPEFULLY this will melt.
Well, off to see if I can't get some baking done because there's NO WAY I'm leaving the house today!

Hugs & Happy Holidays!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

And we're going to kick off 2013 with a Bugaboo Stamps New Release in all it's chilly snowman kind of glory!
I had a chance to do some craftin' with my mama and her friend Sue over the weekend.
Both are newbies to Card Making/Paper Crafting - but boy did they have a good time!!
My mama's favorite tool?  The Cuttlebug with Spellbinder Nesties.
Needless to say my tools got quite a workout this weekend.
This was one I had a chance to whip up (we were creating the window through the front of the card card).
So, you could say it took 3 of us to make this card.  =)
This card was a perfect fit with this cute Snowman Topper image!

Silent Night

So, I finally got the necessary ribbon together for the Glass Block I 'almost' finished over the weekend.  Doesn't it just make you crazy when you run out of something just as you're ready to use it?!  DOH!
Cricut - Calligraphy, Christmas Noel & George/ created in Design Studio
Vinly - Light Blue Wall-pops (from Lowe's last winter)
Standard Size Glass Block, frosted with Krylon Frosting paint
Ribbon - Michaels
Bow - The bow is a bit difficult to see - but it's a nice big loopy bow hand created by Moi! :)
I'm so pleased with the way it turned out.  This one will be going to my mom's store this weekend when we see them for sale.
If you're interested in purchasing one for yourself or a holiday gift, please feel free to contact me.
Happy Craftin'!

Snowflakes Snowflakes, Here & There

Snowflakes Everywhere!
I'm not sure about you, but I love to watch it snow!
I love to watch the way it 'washes' everything clean and how still & quiet it sounds when it snows. And I LOVE how the snow sparkles & glistens when the sunlight hits it as it sits nestled in the branches of the trees.
Because we haven't had much snow (most of what we've gotten thus far melted yesterday with the 50+ degree weather). So, I thought I'd try and get into the Snowy Christmas mood by making this invitation last week.
Every year, Glen and I host Christmas Eve Dinner at Our house for our parents, Glen's Aunt, Uncle & cousins, along with our siblings. This year is no different and the menu is shaping up to be a YUMMY one. Anyway, I digress. So, I always try and send out 'invitations' to our Dinner party and this was what I came up with this year.
We absolutely LOVE the way it turned out although I'm STILL find glitter in the most interesting places.....on the cats, in the carpet, in the laundry, in the cabinets..... I've accepted the fact that I'll be wearing it regularly until I can get it all cleaned up from my studio, but I'm beginning to wonder just how much glitter my poor husband is wearing. :o)Printed Papers were Reminisce - Frosted Collection; Frosted Over & Frosted Window
White Glittery paper was Doodlebug Design
The Bling on the snowflakes were some that I had in my stash, but I think they were from either Archivers or Michaels.
Snowflake design was designed by me on Cricut Design Studio. The large snowflake in the center was cut once in the design and then by itself. Snowflake Frame and large snowflake are all on dimensionals.
So, right now, we don't have any snow, but hold on, according to the mighty weather forecaster here is our forecast for tomorrow afternoon/evening:
Tuesday night Snow showers early will become steadier snow overnight. Low 23F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Significant snow accumulation possible.
I love the "Significant snow accumulation possible" part.......
Guess we'll see if they're right tomorrow!
Happy Craftin!

Whew, what a weekend.....

and while I didn't have a lot of time to create any scrappy stuff, I made 22 dozen cookies for our 4th annual cookie exchange today.
Here's just a little sample of what was on the cookie trays.....

Yummy, huh? You BET!

And, to add with our Whew - weekend, we got quite a bit of snow yesterday, about 4" (even though they were only calling for 2") - and with the snow, it's gotten bitter cold. So, today was a perfect day to enjoy the warmth of the fireplace as well as the warmth of friendship and family. I thought I'd share a photo of our Christmas lights with the new snow. Well, we'll be back to creativity tomorrow. . . . hopefully the sugar buzz will wear off in time for crafty time tomorrow evening!

Here's hoping you're all keeping warm and enjoying the holiday!

Happy crafting! Min

Yummy Papers!

How Yummy are these Bo Bunny papers?

Hopefully by mid-December I'll have a Winter Fun Snowman project to share.

We've revised & rescheduled the Snowman Chipboard Album class for December 13 as we aren't able to get the background papers in a timely manner from the supplier.

So, we're going to do a WINTER FUN Snowman Chipboard Album class instead on January 17 using these wonderful papers and other yummy items!

Stay tuned!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow.....

Okay, we don't actually WANT Snow - I'm sure NOT ready for the white stuff yet, but someone brought to my attention that Christmas is like 7 weeks away??
{Panic is setting in as I type}
So, speaking of Christmas being right around the corner, here's a super cute gift idea -
it's the newest chipboard album that I'll be teaching a class for this month.
Isn't he adorable???
What do you think?

Of course, the googley eyes are back :)
I think his scarf needs some fringe, what do you think??
I believe the class is scheduled for November 22 at Live Laugh Love & Scrap in Oxford. I'll post more of the details once I have them (cost and time).
With the cold weather moving in, I've got cleaning and crafting on my to do list this weekend.
Santa Fe Chicken Tortellini is on the menu for tonight and I think Football & Chili is on the menu for tomorrow - YUMMO! Just need to pick up some crusty bread on the way home from work.
Happy Craftin'!
