Candlelit Fun

So, I'm trying to make a dent in the ever growing amount of photos we take that need to be scrapbooked.
Like they say, "If it isn't in the scrapbook, it didn't happen!"
Here's a LO I just finished the other night. This was commemorating our Powerless Candlelit Christmas Eve from this past year.

Paper: Basic Grey (base sheet super old BG I've had in my stash FOREVER!), Black Cardstock, digi paper (rusty colored and striped colored downloaded from lettering delights)
Cricut: Base Camp title with shadow, Joys of the Season swirly-do's that I cut to fit.
New Prima flowers and leaves from M's
Miscellaneous Photo Corners
Swirly-do's and the black letters in the title were 'kissed' with a swirly stamp from one of the G-Stamp sets in gold ink. You can't really see it too well, but it looks lovely in person.
Journaling talks about how we spent a romantic Christmas Eve wrapping gifts by candlelight.
Thanks for looking!

Knit Happens....Yes it Does!

This was one of the several stamps that I finally inked up - This Knitabella my friend Staci for my birthday last year (yep, it's been that long and this is the first time it's seen ink).
Isn't she cute? Paper was from a paper stack I have had for a bit. Mat under the striped paper was cuddlebugged with the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder. Flowers are primas with pearl embellies in the center. Hopefully whoever gets this card will at least get a grin because 'knit DOES happen!'.
Happy Craftin' today!

Fluffles are too cute to pass up!

I absolutely LOVE the Fluffles stamps and this Fluffy Fluffles is no exception! I LOVE her fuzzy slippers! I ended up doing the MCPT on the image and popped it up on dimensionals. And because her fuzzy slippers looked so comfy, I had to put some fun flock on them to MAKE them fuzzy!

The paper is from a scrappy stack my sis Shelly sent me and I used some ric-rak from my newly organized ribbon stash.
And this is the inside - it says Bunny Slippers Just Make Some Days Easier to Face!
Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Craftin'! Min

SO READY FOR SPRING!

We are so ready for spring! Of course, today we had more snow - but thankfully, not as much as they were predicting, Go figure. So, I needed a few cards to send out and thinkered with these two before we got wrapped up in Food Network. Is it just me or is Food Network addicting?
In anycase, both of these were created out of my stash. I love this paper bag cat stamp. I think it's a Penny Black stamp. Some days you're the paper bad, other days you're the scissors. The papers are from a stack my sis Shelly sent. I love the brown & blue combo. Of course, had to add googley eyes. Used the MCPT on the cat & cut him out. Also used the threading water punch on the scalloped border at the bottom.

The other stamp is a Fluffles stamp - I love this little fat cat. Reminds me of our Jaba the Cat. Paper is We R Memory Keepers scraps, the green paper was embossed with D'vine Swirl embossing folder. The ribbon was from my stash. Also used the MCPT on the stamped image.

Thanks for lookin'. Happy Craftin! Min

Reasons to Celebrate!

A Wedding and A Birthday! Definitely 2 reasons to celebrate. I wanted to share these with you today. I finished these earlier in the week, but just hadn't had time to take photos and post.
A Wedding Wish for the Mr & Mrs -

I love how simple this turned out!
I used standard black & white Cardstock
Hearts embossing folder & Cuttlebug
Silver & White Ribbon from my stash
Pink Hearts punched with hand punch I've had forever!
Mr & Mrs G-stamp
And A Birthday!

I LOVE my Bella stamps and think everyone should be able to enjoy them, hence the card. Everything is from my stash! For some reason the photo distorts the colors, but it really does look like a nice card in person. D'vine swirls folder used to emboss purple cardstock. Used the MCPT with my prism pencils and then added some stickles to the cupcake (again, didn't photograph very well).
Well, we're scheduled for 4-8" of snow tomorrow, so I think I'll be spending the better part of the weekend in my studio. I have a few class projects and some Scrap-Friendzy challenges I'd like to get wrapped up this weekend. TGIF!
Happy Craftin' & Have a Great Weekend!

Thinking Of You!

Just a quickie this morning - this is a card I put together for a family friends son. He is getting ready to go back in for surgery, so we all try to send him cards to keep his spirits up. This went out in the mail yesterday to him. Sorry the photo is so dark, it's this darn blah weather we're having.
The House Mouse stamped image was from the stamped image swap from last spring. I can't remember which one of the girls sent this cute pair. Image was colored with prism pencils and MCPT.
Standard Red & Blue Cardstock, cuttlebugged.
Image matted with a piece of printed paper scrap (I can't remember who made it.....)
Thanks for stopping by today.
We've got a busy night tonight and probably won't be home until late, but if I have a chance, I'll post the few cards that I finished yesterday.
Happy Craftin'!

A Bella Birthday!

Can I tell you how much I love Bella stamps?!
This was one that I got in a stamped image swap I was in last spring. Isn't she cute?

I created this last night for a family friend who is celebrating a birthday today (yep, a bit behind....DOH!)
Anyway, all the materials used were straight from my scrap bin (with the exception of the square envie and the white paper, but those were still from my stash!)
Printed papers are We Are Memory Keepers. Ribbon was from a gift that I saved & recycled. Cardstock is from the scrap bin. Happy Birthday stamp is from my $1 collection. Bella image is double matted and popped up on dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by today! I have a few projects I'm hoping top get a leg up on tonight. I also need to finish the cover for the Spring Bloom chipboard album.
Happy Craftin!

Welcome to The Jungle

Here was another of the projects from this past weekend's Scrap-Friendzy Scrap weekend - The Challenge was to Alter a Heart Shaped Box (or alter a box of some sort). I'd picked up a few paper mache/chipboard type boxes some time ago (another item in my stash) and so this weekend I decided to alter these to fit right in to my studio!
Hence the Jungle Animal printed papers.
And just to give you an better idea of how these will fit in with my studio if you haven't had the chance to see my creatively chaotic mess in person (count your blessings) - here's a photo (I had to take a new photo as there was no way possible I could share the last photo I took of it at Christmas time - not that this one is much better!!) Complete with Jaba the Crafting Cat (with the creepy glowing eyes)! The tiger eyes painting on the wall was done by my mom - a lady of many, many talents! And my Jungle leaf border was done by my wonderful Mom in Law and I.
Well, that's all for today. I have a few cards I'd like to get finished tonight for birthdays & get wells. With today being President's day, it threw me off a bit as I had several cards that needed to be mailed but because they're ~square~ they need an extra 20 cents postage. No can do when the post office is closed. DOH!

Happy Love Day!

Wishing you all a wonderful Valentine's Day!
I thought I'd share a photo of our 'little' cupid. Today we've been enjoying a good day at home. We got about 2"+ of snow today (after a 60* heat wave earlier in the week). UGH!
I've been scrappin, enjoying the Scrap-Friendzy Challenges today.
Here are a few that I've completed so far. Nothing like a good challenge to get the mojo going! This one was a challenge to use Hand stitching - so the coconuts & Palm Tree Trunks. Ah, how nice it would be to have the toes in the sand......

I Love the Bella stamps! Especially one in her PJ's! The card says - Some Days life is easier to handle in your PJ's! I made this for my mom. She's been dealing with a flooded store for over a week now and is still waiting for the landlord to get it resolved.

This was based on a Tiffany's challenge. A little something to add to my card box. It looks so much better in real life.

I hope you're having a fabulous Valentine's Day!

In the Knick of Time!

I finished the Family album last night, just in the knick (is it knick or nick?) of time to catch the New Season Premier of Survivor (yep, Glen and I both find entertainment in the drama of 16 people thrown together without clean clothes and food) and to start playing along with the Work of He{art} Online Crop at Scrap-Friendzy. I have to say, I think this season of survivor will be better than last season! We've already decided Fabio (the soccer coach, Fabio wanna-be) needs to be voted off. We LOVED the twists at the beginning AND the outcome of the first tribal council. So for those of you who are survivor fans, what did you think about last night's episode?? Okay, back to the crafty stuff - be sure to check out Scrap-Friendzy's Work of He{art} Online Crop this weekend - challenges started last night and will run thoughout the weekend. The girlz there have some fabulous challenges!! Go Check it out!! Last but not least - Here's the Family Album. Finished & being mailed on Monday to the recipient. What do you think?

Materials used - We R Memory Keepers: Hoopla Collection (I LOVE THIS LINE!!), Primas & Brads from my stash. I think everything cut out in this book was cut out with the cricut - carts used: Cuttin' Up, Jasmine, Joys of the Season, My Community, Opposites Attract, Stretch your Imagination & Walk in My Garden, I inked quite a bit with my usual go to ColorBox Chestnut Roan ink. Quotes and poem were found on line.
Thanks for looking! Happy Craftin' and come join us at Scrap-friendzy for some great online croppin'!

Brilliant!

That's what we were today! So, I was getting sick of DIGGING through my ink basket looking for chalk & inks to use for projects. So, Sunday morning while I was doing laundry, I thought about magnetizing my ink pads and attaching them to a cookie sheet on the side of my cabinet within reach of my work space. However, the magnets I picked up for some reason didn't like any of the cookie sheets I had that the kitchen was willing to part with. So, Glen had a great idea - a piece of sheet metal or flashing. And what do you know - a crafty girl in Home Depot, trying to explain what I needed a sheet of flashing for.......and this is what we ended up with -
The final product - BRILLIANT!

Ladybug Cuteness

I made this especially for my cousin Teri who is having a baby girl in March. Her baby shower was yesterday and the baby's room has the ladybug theme. This turned out much cuter than it looks in the photo. Each layer is popped up on dimensionals. I ended up cutting the wings apart and then reattached with the heart shaped brad where the flowers are so the wings open & close.

Not only did I make this as a baby shower card, but this is the prototype for the baby's birth announcements. How cute will this be for that? Total Baby Cuteness!
Off to run to the grocery store & enjoy some more of this wonderful sunshine we haven't seen or felt in what seems like YEARS!!! It's 40* today, 43* tomorrow and nearly 50* on Tuesday!! Today's the first day we've been able to see the deck since early December.I think some grillin' for dinner tonight might be in the future!

Thinking of you

Even though I'm still plugging along on the second family album, I had to take a little time out and make a sympathy card.
I love the way this card turned out. The photo doesn't capture the colors super great - no natural light right now. I love this stamp set (I'll have to look and see who it's by).
It's so useful.
Happy Craftin' and TGIF - I'm glad it's almost Friday!

Family is what it's all about!

The finished product--Family Mini-Album is here. I'm so very happy with the way it turned out. I think this is the fifth of 6th one I've done, but the beautiful thing is that everyone is different! This is for a family friend - my mom and I 'traded' crafty work. She made me 12 neat tree-like Thanksgiving napkins (I'll have to take a photo of those tonight instead of trying to explain them) and in return I did this album for a close family friend who has a brithday later this month. So, what do you think? I know the soccer doesn't really 'go' with the theme of the album very well, but this lady has 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter and I just couldn't bring myself to leave a place with flowers to put the boys photos. :)

Materials used:
Family Album cut by Laser Lady
Printed Papers - Basic Grey Sugared Collection
Cardstock - WorldWin, Racy Raspberry, Olive, Light Pink, Totally Tan, Coffee Brown, Black & White
Fibers - BG Sugared Collection
Flowers - Primas on front cover and on M
Cricut- Design Studio used with the following cards - Calligraphy, Jasmine, Walk In My Garden, Zooballoo, Plantin Schoolbook, Sports Mania
Cuttlebug - Distress Stripes & Tiny Mosaic Texture
Bling - Flamingo Button on Front - made using Diamond Glaze & BG paper, Small Pearls, Buttons from stash
Extras - Adhesives: Xyron & Pop-dots for dimension, Ink, Gold Embossing Powder, Quotes & Poem from collection, printed from MS Publisher.
Thanks for looking - hope you're having a great day!

History

Well, as the saying goes, if it's not in the scrapbook, it didn't happen.
The Girlz over at Scrap-Friendzy provided the sketch as a January Challenge and here's what I came up with.
I wanted to commemorate the election of our new President, here it is. It looks much better in person.
I took photos of the Family mini-album I finished tonight, but have to do a bit of resizing on the photos before I post them. Look for the photos tomorrow.

We all have to have GOALS.....Right?

So, one of my goals this year is to get caught up scrapping several years worth of photos we have and to complete our wedding album. I'm jumping all over, there's no rhyme or reason to the order pages are being completed.
Here are two layouts I was able to complete over the weekend - This one is of our 'Newly Wed' Home Improvement projects we start after returning from our honeymoon.

Papers were cardstock I had in my stash (that's another GOAL this year to really dig into my stash & USE IT!). Used cuttlebug embossing folder behind smaller painting photos at the bottom for texture (looks better in person). Paint Can, Paint Brush & Roller embellies are Jolee's that I've had for just this occasion. Newlywed Home was cut with the cricut and Stamped Cart. Journaling done on the computer & printed out. Also used some Stickles on the title as part of the BLING Scrap Friendzy challenge for January.
This one is when we started on finishing our basement.

I can't remember who the wood grained paper is by, yellow & black are from the cardstock stash. The Under Construction sticker on the left is from Karen Foster. Caution Construction Zone was cut with the Cricut using Base Camp - I used the negative and matted it on the black. The Little Screw top Eyelets were Making Memories. Journaling at the bottom was done on the computer and then cut into strips. Photos were sized & printed in a collage specifically for this since we had so many.
I hope to have one of the Family Albums done tomorrow to share with you. Let's keep our fingers crossed! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a productively crafty day!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

Not sure about you, but where the heck did January go?!
Happy February and Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
We've been busy this weekend. I've had some Layouts I've been trying to complete. I wanted to share a card I made. The sketch was part of the Scrap-friendzy Tuesday Card Sketch challenge. I LOVE the way it turned out.
The printed paper is Papertrey's Raspberry Fizz, some cardstock from my scrappy stash. The stamps both the flowers and the 'a little note' were some $1 stamps I had in my collection.
Well, thanks for lookin'
Happy Craftin' and game or commercial watching.
