Oldie But Goodie: Belated Anniversary Edition

Another great Oldie But Goodie Day at The Bug Blog.
So, because we were on vacation for our anniversary and because it was absolute CHAOS when we were trying to GET to vacation, I didn't get a chance to share with you a little Anniversary card I whipped up for my Hubby!

10 years ago August 15, my wonderful hubby and I got married during the East Coast Black Out of 2003 - no power and boy did we fly by the seat of our pants on our wedding day.

Everything that could have gone wrong did - it rained 3 hours before our ceremony (and we were getting married outside), I was loading a generator with my daddy into the back of his pick-up at 7 am on my wedding day, my sister lost my husband's wedding ring as we were getting ready to walk down the aisle.  We had a porta-pottie on the patio - we had hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken on the grill for our meal - but even with all the things that didn't go as we'd planned, we had an UNFORGETTABLE wedding day - and we celebrated with so many special people in our lives, family and friends.  We can't help but smile when we think of all the craziness we dealt with on our special day, but WOW, it was truly AMAZING.
And 10 years later, it seems like just yesterday!

  1. Oh, so sweet, Min!
Sounds like a wedding day to remember, for sure! I remember that crazy blackout! We had brown-out at work (north end of Oxford), and we were living in Lapeer, which did NOT lose power! There were people lined up for three miles on M24 at the gas stations! It was nuts, but not as nuts as trying to pull off a wedding that day! You rock, girlie!
