We's like Peas & Carrots!

I hope today finds everyone recovering from the long weekend. I know we sure stayed busy & were pooped by the time the weekend wrapped up.
So, I've finally finished my most recent client album, but alas, I completely forgot to take photos! (yep, was a pretty blond weekend for me). I'm hoping my mom will take a few quick pics before the owner picks up the album from her store.

A Combo Challenge

Whew, another busy week! I had a Design Studio class Tuesday night at Live Laugh Love Scrap in Oxford and have been plugging away on an album for a client, but thought I'd put together a quick little card. I'm not sure how your creative process works, but sometimes actually FINISHING something when I have all these other projects that take a lot of time to finish is exhilarating.
This Gruffies image is from Aprile on the Cricut MB for the May MCPT Challenge. I love the lilacs on this image - they're now blooming our area. I'm hoping to find a lilac bush somewhere that I can pull over and cut a few lilacs off and enjoy at home. My oh my, I'd love a lilac bush in our yard. I digress - The Sketch is based on this weeks Challenge #38 from the House Mouse Monday Challenge. The inside says Sending you a Bouquet of Love, Happy Mothers' Day.
Just a little 2 birds, one stone kind of project. :)

Materials:
Gruffies Lavender Bouquet Stamp
Basic Grey LilyKate Collection
Ribbon from my stash
Silver Brads, Making Memories
Flowers: Primas and miscellaneous from my stash
Hope you're creativity is running wild and you're off to have a lovely Memorial Weekend!

Graduation Celebration

Howdy there - I've been such a bad blogger this past week. My mojo has been so MIA this week, it's been unbelievable. I've also had a few client projects that I've been working on.
Our cousin John graduated from nursing school recently and last night we celebrated with he and his family with a graduation dinner. Because things have been so crazy busy around here, I considered buying a graduation card (considered), but no only could I not find one that was perfect for John, but have you seen the cards on the market lately?? I saw one card that was simply a stamped graduation cap with some glitter to 'color' in the cap and congratulations on the inside. Want to guess how much?? $4.95! I was floored!
In anycase, here's the one that I made for John. It was perfect for him. His favorite color is blue. The graduation cap is stamped in silver and embossed in silver, cut out and popped up on the front of the card. Congratulations is stamped in navy blue and embossed with clear powder. On the inside, the diploma and text is stamped in navy blue and embossed with the clear powder also.
Sorry for the scribble that I distorted. For some reason I decided to sign the card before I photographed it. Yep, it's been a blond weekend!
Hope yours have been a good one!

Celebrate!

Thought I'd use one of the fun images that I received last month. Isn't this little Cupcake Mouse just adorable? Makes you rethink the mouse traps, doesn't it?
I have to share a story before I post this card, speaking of mice. A few years ago, at Thanksgiving (we do our Thanksgiving the Saturday after because of out of town guests). Anyway, at the time we only had one refrigerator and it was STUFFED beyone full. So, I thought I'd put a bowl that needed to be refridgerated in the grill, it was like a refrigerator outside, so I didn't figure it'd hurt. So, I pop open the lid of the grill and was ready to set the bowl on the gril grate and what pops out and says hello? If you guessed a little mouse who'd built a little house (actually the Taj-ma-hal) in the base of the grill. So, what did I do, screamed, apologized to the mouse for dropping by unannounced, closed the grill lid and took myself and our Thanksgiving food back into the house and found Glen to tell him about my experience.
Of course, we all had a good laugh when the story was told over Thanksgiving Dinner. That story ranks right up there with me doing a face plant into the lani door while we were in Long Boat a few years ago. But that's a whole different story for another day.
So, now for the card - Lots of Birthday Bling. :o)
Papers are We R Memory Keepers and Bo Bunny. Green bling is K&Company, Orange Bling on the cupcake was some bling that I picked up at Archivers. Used the MCPT to color the image.

Sunshiney Sunflower!

I thought I'd quickly share the Mom's Day invite for this year.
The Sunflower is from Stretch Your Imagination.
The leaves are from Accent Essentials.
I used DS to attach the two sunflowers together.
The Center was cuttlebugged.
The invitation is on the inside.
Cardstock (Greens & Brown) was from my stash
The Metallic Yellow was paper I picked up at M's.
I thought it turned out cute, how about you?
Hope you're having a good Monday.

A little bit of Spring

Here's hoping you've had a wonderful weekend! We've had lovely weather the last two days. Yesterday I had a baby shower to attend (and of course I forgot to take a photo of the baby blanket I knitted for the new arrival), I didn't get to enjoy the sunshine as I would have liked, but I got to spend the afternoon with my mom in law, Glen's cousin, aunt and family friend, so it was a good day! Today - the windows have been open and the sun tea jug is on the deck.
Have you ever noticed just how good things taste after a long winter? Fresh herbs in your meals, sun tea in your glass? Some of my favorite spring things I've been longing for all winter!
My mom in law who is a wonderful lady and very special to me is celebrating a birthday this Saturday. So, I spent a little time making this little diddy for her today using the Penny Black Saturday Challenge as the inspiration. You can check out this week's challenge here. The challenge was to use three different shapes.

Stamp is Penny Black
Flower paper is from my stash, yellow paper is WRMemory Keepers Explorer from the White Out Collection.
Green velvet ribbon from M's
Yellow & Pink Primas
Brad was inked and coated with UTEE
Stickles
Well, off to finish up the potato salad for dinner.

Welcome to Friday's Edition!

Happy May!
Can I tell you how happy I am that it's Friday? It seems like this week was go go go all week. I had an album to get finished for a client (maybe that's why it seemed busy). The album went postal yesterday, woo hoo, but with this crazy weather, I've had a sinus headache since Monday (hence my lack o'posting and crafting....).
Anyway, enough about that - the rain has stopped (we've had that nearly all week too), but April Showers bring a nice sunny May. The weather is gorgeous today - it's a shame to be stuck inside at work. BRING ON THE WEEKEND!! So, here are the photos of the album I just wrapped up. I was kind of flying in the dark on this one - all I knew was that the couple was having a baby soon. What do you think? Did I do okay keeping it not too girly or not too boyish? I'm pretty pleased with the final product.
(Sorry for the dark photos - like I said, it's been raining all week.....)
Materials: We R Memory Keepers White Out Explorer Line, mixed & matched
Cricut: Accent Essentials, All Mixed Up, New Arrival, Zooballoo

Msicellaneous: Googley Eyes - Joann's, Quotes & Poems - computer generated, Rhinestone Hearts & Dew Drops from Stash, Prima Flowers, Buttons & Brads from stash
Tonight I need to finish knitting a baby blanket for a baby shower tomorrow - nothing like waiting until the last minute, huh? Hopefully I can post a photo tomorrow.
Happy Craftin' and have a wonderful weekend!
