Just a quickly little simple card I put together for my pen pal kiddo Claire!
She has been playing volleyball and is super great from what I hear.  Anyway, she decided to try out for the traveling volleyball team and guess what?!
Yup, you guessed it, she made the team!
My hubby and I are so proud of her!!
So, of course that calls for a card - and what better day for a card than Oldie But Goodie Day at Bugaboo Stamps! :)

I know I try & make it a habit to use at least ONE punch on every project I make....great in theory, not always great in the creative process.

So, your challenge today should you chose to accept it - Use your punches on your project!

I thought I'd share mine with you :)

When things SUCK....

Happy Hump Day!  Whew, what a week already!
I thought I'd share a card with you I made for my mom.  Since my dad's passing, I stay with my mom at the farm once or twice a week.  We putter with stuff around the house (STILL trying to get things fixed AFTER the flood), conversation, dinner, knitting - Just time we can spend together.  I know she enjoys it and I do to.
Well, the past few weeks have been a bit rough on all of us - Family Drama at it's MOST Amazing and Disgusting peak.  :oP

When my dad was sick, he would always say "This SUCKS!"
So now, I can tell when my mom is having a rough day by her "This SUCKS" comments.
Some time ago I'd found this digi from Whimsie Doodles and haven't had a chance to use it until now.  :)
Seemed kind of appropriate for the "This SUCKS" theme lately......
Papers - Miscellaneous papers and Bazzill
Coloring - Copics
Tools - MS Punch
Extra STUFF - BLING (who wouldn't want to fly around on a blinged out vacuum like this???) ;o)
Ribbon and Dimensionals

Tonight our project - knocking down some fences - we should both be GOOD and STRESS-FREE after that exercise!!

Spring

The thing I love about Spring?  Growing up on a farm, that's when all the babies arrived.  Baby Goats, Horses, Sheep, Ducks, you name it, Spring is when the baby animals were in full arrival mode.
Heck, this year already, our friends and neighbors out at the farm have welcomed one new addition to their farm - photo courtsey of 'The Outback'
This wonderful new Spring Lamb from Shelly's Images reminds me of all the new life in the spring!
What a Marvelous Monday indeed!

Batteries??

I tell you - we used to go through batteries in our house like WATER!
My hubby and I just LOVE our Wii - of course we're the only one of our friends in our neighborhood that has one, so everyone always ends up at our house.  We were going throught batteries EVERY stinkin' weekend it seemed. . . . UNTIL we got the Wii Remote charger.  AMEN for Rechargable electronics!!

In anycase, every time I saw this Gus Image from Bugaboo and the flash light (we run into this same problem with our flashlights too), I have to laugh.

Flashlights are INDEED a place to keep dead batteries!

Only appropriate to put on a card for a grin.

Paper - Paper Studio, Bazzill & Kraft
Coloring - Copics
Extra Tools - Cuttlebug & Star embossing folder
Extra STUFF - Dimensionals

My hubby and I have been involved in the Soldier's Angels organization for going on 5 years now.  We've adopted several soldiers that were stationed overseas and recently we signed on to their Letter Writing Team.  So, this little Gus ditty is headed to Afghanistan to hopefully give one of our brave soldiers a brief chuckle!
If you'd like to join the Soldier's Angels Letter Writing Team, or any of the other support teams they have, you can visit the Soldier's Angels site and get involved!

Monochromatic Challenge

Happy Spring!!  Can you believe it's FINALLY getting here?
After this winter of shoveling WAY TOO MUCH SNOW at home and at the farm, WAY TO COOL WEATHER and WAY TOO MANY CRUMMY drives to work, the snow is melting and heck, some of the flowers are even starting to BLOOM!!

Today at The Bug Blog, we're having a Monochromatic plus 3 buttons challenge for you to join in with us on.
A monochromatic color scheme uses a single color. In this type of scheme, various darker shades, grayer tones, and paler tints of the main color may be included in the palette. In addition, the one color is often paired with white or another neutral.
Add THREE Buttons to that and you've got the challenge for this week!
I just love the little Spring Chicks from Bugaboo Stamps, so this image was just PERFECT to use with the Monochromatic Color Scheme of Red!
Image - Bugaboo Stamps "Spring Chick" Dress
Papers - Cardstocks, Recollecions and Paper Studio
Coloring - Copics
Tools - Nesties & Sewing Machine (stitching)
Extra STUFF - Bling, Satin Ribbon, Buttons, Studio G Sentiment and Stickles

So, what kind of Monochromatic thoughts do you have up your sleeve?  Show us what you got this week at The Catch The Bug Blog!  By joining us in the challenge you have the chance to win Seven, Four or Two Bugaboo Stamps of your choice.

Well, what are you waiting for?! :)

I hope you are all feeling TERRIFIC and ready for the weekend!!
Today is a Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps and the set today is A Kids View set.  I don't know how familiar you are with the AKV sets that Jodie creates, but they're WONDERFUL!

Welcome to the Jungle!

Does that make you want to start singin' the Guns n' Roses "Welcome to the Jungle" song - it was GNR that sang it, wasn't it??  If my hubby was around right now, he'd know for sure bein' the Rocker guy he is. :)  For some reason, I've got it in my head today - darn that SHUFFLE option on the good ole' iPod!

Of course, as usual, I digress!  Happy OBG day at Bugaboo!  Have I told you that Thursday is one of my favorite crafty days, with the exception of course of Tuesdays and Fridays b/c of new images!  Thursdays are my days to get my Oldies out and USE EM!

Today I thought I'd get this little ditty together - I LOVE the HEELS - I actually just got a pair of lepoard print sling back heels, not quite this high (if I wore heels like this, I'd break my neck since some days I have a hard time walkin' on my bare feet).  But you can never go wrong with the ANIMAL PRINT!!  MEOW!

Occupation?

When you were little, was there something you wanted to be when you grew up?
Your dream job?
The only thing I can remember wanting to be as a kid growing up was a writer.
And I wanted to change my name to Daisy Lee. . . but that's an entirely different story for another day!  HA HA
Hmmmmm, I don't think my 'real' job is too far from what I wanted to be as a kid - though I'm not writing the novels and poetry I once thought I'd write. There's always time though, right?  LOL
With today being Tuesday, it's a New Release day at Bugaboo Stamps, and shortly you'll see how I got on this "What did you want to be when you grew up" conversation.
Today's newly released set is these super cute "Occupational Bears".
I never wanted to be a nurse (used to be a bit squeemish about blood and 'stuff'), but this little nurse bear is just perfect for someone who might be under the weather a bit.

Ooo Baby Baby!

Welcome to today's addition of The Catch The Bug Challenge.  I say ADDITION (knowing it's edition in most other situations), because today's challenge has to do with Babies or Children.  And because I'm headed off to a Baby Shower this afternoon for a new addition, it was only fitting that I share with you this baby card and gift.  :)
If you haven't guess by now, the new addition is supposed to be a Sweet Baby Girl from all doctors indications.
So Pink and girly it is!
Image - Bugaboo Images "Boo"
Paper - Coredination & Miscellaneous Card/Printed Stock
Coloring - Copics
Tools - EK Success Punch & Nesties
Extra STUFF - Lace, Bling, Dimensionals, Studio G Sentiment & Googley Eyes
I thought I'd share with you the Baby Gift - this blanket is a hand-knit creation by me! :)  When I'm not card makin' or scrapbookin' I'm knittin' - just ask my wonderfully supportive hubby!
I found this yarn some time ago and fell in love with it - I kept HOPING someone we knew would magically inform us that they were expecting and that it was a girl.  Low and Behold, it happened and off knittin' I went.  I love the colors and the pattern - I think this is by far one of my favorite baby blankets to date.

Be sure to pop over to The Bug Blog for all the challenge specifics - one thing - if you don't join us this week, you can't win.  And WHO doesn't love the opportunity to win some wonderful Bugaboo's of their choice.  I know I do!!  Be sure to stop by and check out the awesome kid and baby cards the design team put together too - way too talented these folks are I tell you!
